<p>Roy Lee Mortiz Jr., 54, of Eldora, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in the comfort of his own home.</p> <p>Following Roy’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will not be any public services held at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed in Roy’s name to his family which will be later designated elsewhere. For further information or to send a condolence please visit www.abeslfuneralhomes.com. Creps Abels Funeral Home is caring for Roy and is family.</p> <p>Roy Lee Mortiz Jr. was born on October 12, 1966 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Sharron Williams and Roy Lee Mortiz Senior. Roy was a proud Veteran; he served his Country honorably and kept that experience close to his heart. He had a heart of gold, always wanting to make everyone feel comfortable and knew no strangers. On January 18, 1985 Roy was united in marriage to Tan Phiv but the two divorced. On September 19, 1992 he was reunited in marriage to Toya Lee Purk in Tama, Iowa and they also divorced in November of 2000. At the time of Roy’s death, he was married to the love of his life, Tammy (Tompkins) Moritz. Roy had many passions in life such as writing, drawing, listening to music, spending time with his family and friends but the number one thing that Roy was most passionate about was his kids and grandkids.</p> <p>Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Tammy Mortiz; children: Chad Hannen, Shane Stephansen, Amber McCalley, Dustin Moritz, Skylasr Moritz, Nathaniel Moritz, Damon Mortiz, Byron Moritz, Destiny Moritz, Erica Levesque and Corey Levesque; 20 grandchildren; three sisters: Tiffany, Chelsea and Shannon; and two brothers: Brett and Travis.</p> <p>He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.</p>October 12, 1966 - December 9, 202010/12/196612/09/2020
