Francis Julius Granit, 86, of Interlachen, departed this life on December 9, 2020. Francis “Frank” was born on November 5, 1934 to Francis E. Granit and Mary Mitchell Granit in Long Branch, Monmouth County, New Jersey. Frank worked for over 32 years at Naval Weapons Station Earle, Colts Neck, New Jersey, first as a firefighter and then on the railroad to provide all necessary items needed by our Navy ships. He began at the lowest position on the railroad and when he retired, he was a supervisor. Frank loved to serve and help others. He enjoyed attending church services with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served in many capacities showing his love for the Lord. But most of all, he loved his family. The sport he enjoyed the most was golf. Frank was preceded in death by a grandson, George Mueller who died Feb. 10, 2016 and a daughter, Susan Mueller who died Dec. 27, 2017. Frank was married to Annamarie (Lee) for over 40 years. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Annamarie and his children, son, Terry Granit of NJ (his children and grandchildren), daughter, Sharon Clayton of Maine (husband Wil) and their children and grandchildren, son-in-law, George Mueller of NJ (his children and grandchildren), son, Wayne Granit of NJ (wife Leslie) their daughters, son-in-law and granddaughters, son, Brian Granit of NJ (wife Paula), step-daughter, Roslyn Anderson of Interlachen, FL (her children and grandchildren), his nephews and cousins. He has 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Interlachen Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Andrew Geddes conducting. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Cemetery in Mannville. Due to the Covid 19 virus, all attending the services will be required to wear facial coverings and practice social distancing guidelines. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Wounded Worrier Project, P.O.
