Raymond E. Penkalski, Sr. age 88, of Erie, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at his residence.

He was born in Union City, Pa on January 31, 1932, a son of the late George and Stella Gulzinski Penkalski.

Ray was a truck driver for Stroehmann Bakeries for 31 years, retiring in 1991.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Edith Penkalski, a granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Penkalski, and his siblings, Frank and Sigmund Penkalski, Irene Feasler, Helen Roberson and Florence Biggie.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Janet French Penkalski; three children, Raymond E. Penkalski, Jr. (Renee) of Girard, Pa, Linda Sipple (David) of Venango, Pa and Joseph Penkalski (Joanne) of Delray Beach Fl; four grandchildren, Raymond Penkalski III (Benita) of Richmond, VA, Kelly Sipple  ( Lance Pecone) of Henderson, NV, Nicole Penkalski and Madison Penkalski, both of Delray Beach, Fl. He is further survived by three great grandchildren, Anna, Braxton and Avery Penkalski of Richmond, VA; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the entire Lakeland Hospice Team.

Services are private at the convenience of the family and have been entrusted to Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St., Erie, Pa.

Private interment will be at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
