Charles Lee McCallister Obituary

Charles Lee McCallister of 306 Shirley Drive NW, Fort Walton Beach, FL, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, December 1, 2020 at the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, Charles was born on September 6, 1963, the third child of the late Charlie Lee McCallister and the late Cora Lee McCallister. He was preceded by his brother Conrad Lavoyd McCallister who passed away August 5, 2017.

Charles attended Okaloosa County public schools and graduated from FWB high school. After graduating he worked with several construction companies in the area.

At an early age Charles joined Sylvania Heights First Baptist Church following his parents and sibling’s lead. While there he participated in Sunday school, vacation Bible school, and worship services. When he no longer attended church the adult Sunday school class would occasionally bring Sunday school to his home. He was always polite rarely forgetting to say thank you for every act of kindness he received from others. Charles had compassion for anyone that was down and out. Both he and his brother open their hearts and home to share what little they had with anyone in need.

Charles leaves to cherish his loving memories, one daughter, Teresa Rodgers Harris (Malcom); one grandson, Joseph Richardson; two brothers, Cedric L. McCallister and Carl L. McCallister, FWB, FL; aunts, Mrs. Emma Daniels and Lillie Mae Harrel, Campbellton, FL and Elouise Harmon, FWB, FL; uncles, Lonnie R. Harmon, FWB, FL, Daniel Taft Harmon (Rebecca), Louisville, KY, Ira Harmon, M.D. (Loretta), Jacksonville, FL, Robert Earl Harmon (Betty), Tampa, FL, Grady Harmon (Rosa), Orange, NJ; many cousins and friends; and a very special uncle and aunt, Eddie Jell Rodgers and Martha Rodgers, FWB, FL.

A visitation for Charles will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at 11:00 am, at Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  A graveside service will follow at 12:00 pm at Beal Memorial Cemetery, 316 Beal Parkway, NW, Fort Walton Beach.
