Joyce A. Lester

Joyce A. Lester, 63, a lifelong Martinsville resident, passed from this life on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis after battling COVID 19 for several weeks. She was born in Martinsville on June 14, 1957 to the late David E. and Mary Rebecca (Fleener) Lester. She graduated from Martinsville High School with the class of 1975. She was currently employed at Mitsubishi Climate Control in Franklin. Previously, she had works for Beazer Homes in Indianapolis as the accounts payable clerk and the State of Indiana in the payroll department. Joyce was of Christian faith and was a member at Martinsville First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting blankets. Many of which she donated to the children at Riley Hospital. She was friendly, thoughtful, and she possessed a contagious smile and laugh. She is survived by her brother, James (wife, Inge) Lester of Harker Heights, Texas and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Mary Lester, and brothers, John Lester, Joseph Lester, and Jerry Lester. Family and friends are welcome to visit on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the chapel at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville. A funeral service celebrating Joyce’s life will be on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Floyd officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest alongside her parents in Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
