Bernice Lawson Jernigan, age 75, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She went to her final resting place peacefully in her home on December 1, 2020.

Bernice made the move to North Carolina sixty years ago where she made Wake Forest her home.
Bernice was a graduate of Kings College and went on to earn a degree at UNC Chapel Hill. She was employed at Rex Hospital for thirty-three years.

‘Nicey’ as she was adoringly called, was an avid football watcher, and specifically, a Steelers fan.
Bernice was preceded in death by her son, Donald Jernigan.

Bernice leaves to cherish her precious memories her four children, Jonathan Jernigan, Lorenzo Jernigan, Janice Jernigan and Denice Jernigan all of Raleigh, NC; fourteen grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
