Elizabeth Lansing Van Deusen

PLATTEKILL – Elizabeth Lansing “Betsy” Van Deusen, 63, a lifelong area resident, died unexpectedly on December 1, 2020 at her home. Born in Albany on December 25, 1956, she was the daughter of Robert and Gladys (Wiedemann) Van Deusen. Betsy was a graduate of Spackenkill High School and studied business management in college. She worked with her partner in their family business, All Purpose Management in Hopewell Junction since 1994, developing land and supervising many local businesses. She was involved with RSVP and volunteered with the United Way. She loved the beauty of the Hudson Valley, and especially loved the outdoors. An avid birdwatcher just like her mother and father, she found great peace in watching different sorts of birds. Being a true animal lover, she had many pets over the years. Betsy is survived by her partner and companion, James Armstrong; her siblings, Karen Fuller, Cynthia, Robert, Chris and Mark Van Deusen; and many nieces, nephews, a great-niece and several great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Martha Van Deusen.
