<p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong>Willie Alexander Jones passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Atrium Health Pineville with his devoted wife and sons at his side. </strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong>Willie, often called Alexander, was born in Chester County, SC on March 20th 1945 to Lovett Jones, Sr. and Luberta Gilchrist Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings Geneva Jones Hyatt, Robert Henry Jones, Sr. and Charles William Jones. </strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong>Alexander accepted Christ as his Savior as a member of Mt Zion AME Zion Church, in Landsford, SC. He was most recently an active member of Faith Christian Ministries, in Rock Hill, SC, where he served with the Men of Faith ministry.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong>Alexander was a 1964 graduate of Emmett Scott High School, in Rock Hill, SC. He was employed with Duff-Norton Company Inc., in Charlotte, NC, as a Lathe Operator, for 42 years. </strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong>Alexander (nicknamed Chin) was a zealous professional wrestling fan. He also enjoyed watching football, tennis and sharing laughs about his life experiences. He loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.&nbsp;</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong>Leaving to treasure his memories are his loving wife of 51 years, Janice Ruth Cherry Jones; two sons, Willie (Tarnell) and Courtney (Natassia); five grandchildren, Michael, Devin, Jalyn, Casey and Cameron; one great-grandchild; Christian; three brothers; Lovett Jr., Edward Louis (Rosa Lee) Sr., Maceo (Doshia); one sister, Catherine; all of Rock Hill, SC; one niece raised in the home; Elma Shannon, of Columbia, SC; two brothers-in-law, Frankie Cherry, of Charlotte, NC, Melvin (Joyce) Cherry of Rock Hill, SC; four sisters-in-law, Gurdine Mackey, Barbara (Sandy) Kennedy, Zelda Brown, Eliza Cherry; all of Rock Hill, SC and a multitude of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong>Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday December 5, 2020 at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens conducted by&nbsp;Pastor Jimmy Alexander and Pastor Ronnie Baxter.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong>Friends may pay their respects Friday evening from 6:00pm until 7:00pm at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong>In lieu of flowers memorials maybe made to The Faith Christian Ministry Building Fund at one of the following address: P.O. Willie Alexander Jones passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Atrium Health Pineville with his devoted wife and sons at his side.

Willie, often called Alexander, was born in Chester County, SC on March 20th 1945 to Lovett Jones, Sr. and Luberta Gilchrist Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings Geneva Jones Hyatt, Robert Henry Jones, Sr. and Charles William Jones.
