Obituary for Marie Zecchino:

Of Belmont, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 30, 2020, at her home at the age of 97.

Born on January 23, 1923 in East Boston, daughter of the late Fortunato and Caterina (Cupiraggi) Ciliberto, Marie was raised in East Boston and later worked in various office positions throughout the city. She married her husband
Guido Paul Zecchino on October 17, 1948 in East Boston. In 1952 they moved to Belmont, later purchased their first forever home in 1957, raised their two daughters there, and have lived there ever since. Guido passed away on July 5, 2012. They were happily married for 63 years. During those years, they enjoyed traveling with Paragon Tours throughout the United States.

Throughout Marie's life, she enjoyed many hobbies and had several interests. For many years, she belonged to a Belmont Bowling league, was a member of the Maria Montessori Lodge, OSIA and was a Brownie Troop Leader. She loved to cook,bake,sew,knit and crochet, do arts and crafts, read and take long walks. Marie had many friends, loved to play bingo and most of all, loved to laugh.

She is survived by her two loving and devoted daughters, Deborah A. Zecchino of Belmont, and
Denise Zecchino Peterson and her husband Mark A. Peterson of Wilmington, who will miss her greatly. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Marie was the younger sister of the Late Constance, Henrietta,Frank,Anthony,Fred and Frances.

Due to the resurgence of Covid, there will be no scheduled wake or funeral. The family will have a "Celebration of Life" get together at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Marie's name, to one of her favorite charities, Saint Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Good Shepherd Community Care, 160 Wells Ave, Newton Ma 02459. Thank You.
