Sun Hee Choi Obituary

On Wednesday, November 25, 2020, Sun Hee Choi, beautiful and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 96.

Sun Hee was born on April 20, 1924 in the city of Paju in the Gyeonggi Province of South Korea. She married her late husband, Chang Sung Choi, in 1940, and they had seven children together. She raised her children during political and economic turmoil, but she persevered with her love and grace. She immigrated to the United States in 1983 and called Wisconsin her new home.

Living in her new home, Sun Hee further honed her resourcefulness and sharpness, but she was always a mighty home cook. She was a small woman but had the biggest heart. She was so selfless, and she was so caring. She proudly watched her grandchildren eat her home-cooked meals, and she always gave away her favorite foods and other treats without hesitation to people she loved. Sun Hee's love was the purest, and it transcended language barriers.

Sun Hee was preceded in death by her husband, Chang Sung, her oldest daughter, Hyang Soon, and her oldest son, Hyang Gyun. She is survived by her three daughters, Suncha, Yuncha, Soonae, her two sons, Myung Gyun and Jong Gyun, her 11 grandchildren, Jung Im, Jin Won, Robert, Eric, Kimberly, Jin Ho, Jin Sun, Jin Il, Jin Hyuk, Osng, and Ohyun, and her 11 great-grandchildren.
