It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rodolphe “Rudy” LeBlanc, of Moncton, which occurred at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, four days before his 90th birthday. Born in Cormier’s Cove (Memramcook), he was the son of the late Aurèle and Olida (Léger) LeBlanc.

He is survived by sisters, Angela (Raoul) Melanson of Dieppe and Francine LeBlanc of Quebec City; foster daughter Lorrie (Alec) Penny of Greenwood, Nova Scotia; sister-in-law, Jeanne (Daniel MacDonald) of Cocagne; brother-in-law, Alfred (Laudia) Hébert of Lakeburn; very special friends, Yvonne Gallant and Elaine Steeves as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Claire (November 12, 2020); brothers, Paul-Émile, Ronaldo, Joseph, Normand and Bernard; sisters, Jeannita LeBlanc, Aurèla Cormier, Hermance Cormier and Aline LeBlanc.

As a military couple, Rudy and Claire lived in many places in Canada and Europe, any place where Rudy’s career would take them. They made many friends everywhere they went. When Rudy was posted in Greenwood, Nova Scotia, they took in many foster children, including their foster daughter, Lorrie. After Rudy’s retirement, they settled on Bunker Lane in Memramcook where they enjoyed meeting friends and family.

Rudy was a good storyteller. With his excellent memory, he would describe in detail many of the events that marked his life. His funny stories and jokes will be missed by everyone who knew him.  

Respecting Rudy’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held for family and close friends. Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook.
