Chester B. Hayes Obituary

Chester B. Hayes Sr., age 75 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday December 2, 2020, at his residence.

 

He retired after 40 years as a truck driver.  CB was a member of Olive Branch Methodist Church in Cottage Grove.  He was a charter member of the Paris Moose Lodge as well as a member of the Paris Elks Lodge.

 

Chester was born April 20, 1945, in Milan, TN, to the late George William Hayes and the late Beulah Estelle Jenkins Hayes.

 

He was married August 20, 1970, to his wife of 50 years, Sue Allen Hayes, who survives, of Paris.

 

Along with his wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Jennifer (Jon) Trosper of Paris; and one son, Chuck Hayes (Sunshine Darnell) of Paris; one sister, Opal Lessenberry of Lavinia, TN; and five grandchildren; Ben Hayes, Marley Trosper, Bryleigh Hayes, Jack Trosper, and Johnna Reddix.

 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Rainey and Rachel Smith; and seven brothers, Henry Hayes, Thurman Hayes, Raymond Hayes, Ray Hayes, Lyndell Hayes, Robert Hayes, and George Hayes, Jr.

 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Saturday, December 5, 2020, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Saturday, December 5, 2020, at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Mike Wimberley officiating.

 

Serving as pallbearers will be Dan Mayer, Daniel Mayer, Jerry Lessenberry, Chris Hayes, Greg Smith, Randy Phillips.

 

Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Paris.
