James "Bud" Beckwith

James "Bud" Ronald Beckwith, age 85 of Cookeville, passed from this earthly life on Sunday November 29, 2020, after a brief illness. He was born on October 14, 1935, in West Virginia to the late George and Bertha Burkley Beckwith. Bud moved to Cookeville 54 years ago with the family. He worked at Tennessee Tech University as a programmer analyst for 33 years before retiring. He was well known for telling jokes and putting a smile on someone's face. He enjoyed time with his family and had a great appreciation of all God's natural creations, such as mountains, waterfalls, and lakes; he shared that love with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy, and brother, Richard Beckwith. He is survived by daughters, Kaye (Rick) Easton, Stephanie Beckwith, Melissa (Steve) Bowman, Melanie Beckwith, and Beckie (Scott) Moran; grandchildren, Michael (Autumn) Bowman, Jeremie (Jennifer) Bowman, and Trey (Kate) Easton; great grandchildren, Star, Haiden, Audrey and Gavin; sister-in-law, Martha Beckwith; nieces, Carrie and Nancy; and nephew, Paul. A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday December 12th at the Monterey Church of the Nazarene with family receiving friends from 2 p.m. until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Monterey Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 110 N Poplar Street, Monterey, TN 38574.
