Ernest Lester “E.L.” Jones, 86, of Cabot passed from this life on December 1, 2020 He was born November 16, 1934 in Faulkner County, Arkansas to the late Lester and Analene Barrentine Jones. E.L. was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping and playing card games but found his greatest joy in his family. He was a loving and hardworking husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed by all who were privileged to know him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Floyd Jones, son-in-law, Larry Buell and grandson, Alex Buell.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Lanell Jones, children, Phil (Diana) Jones of Cabot, Connie (Roger) Skipper of Cabot, Cindy (Jimmy) Gray of Cabot and Cheryl Buell of Winslow. Other survivors include eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and sister, Thada (Joe) Roberts of Huntsville, Alabama along with a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be private. Mr. Jones will lie in state at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home on Friday, December 4, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Memorials in his memory may be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church, Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, 11923 Zion Hill Road Cabot, AR 72023.
