Walter Gevelinger Obituary

Walter Gevelinger, 98, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020.  He was born in Appleton on September 6, 1922 to Charles Gevelinger and Esther Koehnke.  He graduated from Appleton High School and shortly after entered the Army Air Corps where he served in WWII.  After the war he attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering and spent his life working in the electrical field, several years of which were for Louis Allis. He received an award from the Milwaukee Police Department for preventing a woman from being abducted when she was forced into a car trunk on June 4, 1970.  After he retired, he moved to Las Vegas, NV before returning to Appleton. 

The Family is so thankful for the care and love Walter received from the nurses and staff at The Heritage.

He is survived by his brother George, and a sister-in-law Dolores, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  brother Raymond, sister-in-law Beatrice and step father Joe Smyrneos.

He requested no service and will be interred at Highland Memorial Park.
