Shawn J. Hachey

   1965 – 2020

Shawn Joseph Hachey of Miramichi passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on December 1, 2020 at the age of 55.

Born in Chatham on May 6, 1965, he was the son of Aldea (Chiasson) Hachey and the late Ron Hachey.  He worked in computer technology for many years and his last place of employment was at the Public Service Pay Centre in Miramichi.  He was known for his quick wit and hearty laugh.  He loved canoeing, nature, and just being in the great outdoors.  He had many friends from near and far, especially the squad from high school.

Shawn is survived by his mother, Aldea Hachey of Miramichi; two step-sons: Myles and Matthew Messer; one brother, Randy Hachey (Diana) of Aldouane, NB; one niece, Aeryn; two nephews: Michael and Peter and many cousins.  He was predeceased by his father, Ron Hachey.

By family request there was no visitation.  A private family service was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, NB, with Father Leon Creamer as Celebrant. Recorded songs were:  "You Raise Me Up", and "Go Rest High on that Mountain".  A scripture reading was read by brother, Randy Hachey and the eulogy was presented by John Lutes.

Interment will be held at St. Michael’s Cemetery on Tuesday, June 8th, at 10 AM.  Due to COVID-19 regulations, facemasks and social distancing are mandatory.
