Kim Douglas Pierson Obituary

Kim Douglas Pierson, 66, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 30, 2020 at his residence following a battle with cancer. He was born on January 3, 1954 in Clarksburg, WV, a son of the late Marvin D. “Red” Pierson and Edna Church Pierson. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Margaret (nee Golden); son John Pierson, of Lost Creek, WV; daughter Jessica Moore and her husband Jamie, of Morgantown, WV; grandchildren Luciana and Henry Moore, brothers Patrick Pierson (Anna Marie), of Wilmington, DE and Stephen Pierson (Cindy Zamzow), of Fairfax, CA; and beloved niece Holly Pierson. His early days were spent fishing and riding horses with cousins Bobby and Sandy Earley in Peoria Hill and he loved riding with his grandfather “Pappy” Pierson in Shinnston’s Frontier Days. Kim attended Bridgeport High School and graduated in 1972. He was a builder by trade, and along with his father and grandfather, he constructed homes that formed many well-known Bridgeport developments, including Davis Heights, Deerfield, Willis Heights, and Center Court. Later in his career, Kim also worked for his uncle, Robert Alonso, and he dearly loved the Alonso family. Christmas Eves spent with Dominic Talerico and the “Martini Sisters” Mary, Leila, and Patti, were especially memorable times. Kim loved music, especially if it involved a road trip with John and Mary Margaret and good friends Robbie Curtin, Chris and Judy Byrd, and Randy and Carla Kesling. This often meant a trip to the Ramble Barn in Woodstock, NY, the Fur Peace Ranch in Pomeroy, OH, or to Little Feat’s Ramble on the Island with his “Feat Family”, Renee, Virginia, and Leo. He was happiest in Miss Gloria’s yard in Negril, Jamaica, surrounded by his Jamaican friends and family. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the family has chosen to mark his passing with a private service, but will hold a celebration of life on a future date. Condolences may be extended at www.fordfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the charity of your choice. The Pierson family has entrusted the care and arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV.
