Ethel Mae Starbuck Obituary

Ethel Starbuck, 83, of Havelock, passed away Tuesday, December 1­, 2020, at her home.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Cherry Point United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Sarah Majors. Ethel will be laid to rest at Forest Oaks Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to attend the funeral service. For those unable to attend, the family invites you to view the webcasting of the service through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. In keeping with the CDC guidelines pertaining to the Coronavirus, those who are ill or at-risk (elderly, immune-compromised) are encouraged to stay home. Additionally, there will be a limit to the number of people in the building at one time, as well, those who attend will be asked to bring and wear a protective mask. Help us honor the family while practicing safe measures. Ethel was born on August 9, 1937, in Nashville, Tennessee. Her ability to learn quick, her reliability and sharp attention to detail were all assets to the various organizations she participated in, including the Eastern Star of New Bern, White Shrine, Fleet Reserve Association, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Ethel faithfully attended Cherry Point United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing the choir.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Woodruff Nuanes and husband Louie of Albuquerque, NM; son, Michael Otto Woodruff of Havelock; brother, William Thomas Pullen of Homestead, FL; grandchildren, Patricia Weinder, Amey Rodriguez, Amanda Kelly, Sean Thompson and Ryan Thompson; and great-grandchildren, Seth Rodriguez, Charlie Weinder and Lee Bowen..

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Jim Starbuck.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2020, at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock. The same safety guidelines will apply.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Cherry Point United Methodist Church at 103 Methodist Drive Havelock NC, 28532 or the Cherry Point Masonic Lodge #688 at 110 Oakwood Dr, Havelock, NC 28532.
