Anita L Heleine Obituary

Anita L. Heleine, 64, of Martinsville, IL, died November 30, 2020 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL. She was born October 12, 1956 in Robinson, the daughter of Wayne Nethery & Lowdemia Zora (Daugherty) Nethery, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy A. Heleine; and by her son, Joe Wicker. She is survived by her sons, John Heleine (Martinsville, IL) and William Heleine (Martinsville, IL); by her granddaughter, Angel Heleine (Martinsville, IL); by her grandson, Joey Perisho (AK); by two great-grandchildren, Makenna Canyon (AK) and Jolene Perisho (AK); by her siblings, Ena Bradford (Marshall, IL), Paula Shetler (Marshall, IL), Bill Nethery (Marshall, IL), Jenny Bierbaum (Champaign, IL), Phyllis & Steve LaCroix (West Union, IL) and Demia & Carl Auten Jr. (Indianapolis, IN); as well as several nieces and nephews. Anita grew up in the York, IL area and was a graduate from Hutsonville High School. She would go on to eventually graduate with her associate's degree in nursing from Lincoln Trail College, which allowed her to carry on her life's work as a registered nurse. Among other institutions, she graced the doors of Miller's Merry Manor in Sullivan, IN, Cotillion Ridge in Robinson, IL, and Heartland Manor in Casey, IL, before finally retiring in 2010. Away from work, Anita loved to cook, her yeast rolls and cinnamon rolls being the stuff of legend! Out of the house, she could often be found with a fishing pole in hand, and this provided her with countless hours of peace and enjoyment. She was also an avid traveler who found a sort of second home in the Smoky Mountains, in particular, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN. She was also well-acquainted with the sights of Madison, IN. Though this dynamo was known to be more than a little headstrong, her heart truly beat for others, a fact evident in both her calling and in the love she gave to family, who have lost their matriarch and champion. Due to the newly-increased public safety measures being enforced by the State of Illinois, services will be private. Anita will be laid to rest in the York Cemetery. The Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union is in charge of arrangements.
