Thomas Pirlozzi Obituary

Thomas Pirlozzi, 80, of Union Township passed away the morning of December 1, 2020 at UPMC Jameson.


He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on January 20, 1940 to the late Philip L. and Bertha Ann Santillo Pirlozzi.


On August 3, 2002 Tom married is beloved wife the former, Sandy Pagley. She survives at home.


In the early years Tom had worked as a foreman for Pennsylvania Engineering Corp. He then worked for Richmond Brothers. Tom retired from Wheatland Tube.


Tom had served his country as a member of the United States Army.


He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Site.


As an active and proud Veteran, Tom was a longtime member and Commander of the New Castle Area Honor Guard. He was a member of the Lawrence County Veterans Council. He also served as a longtime member and commander of the American Legion, Post 343. In the early years, Tom enjoyed bowling and golfing and was an ASA umpire for softball. Tom was a former member of the Rapid Tappets and Corvette club. As a loving husband, father and grandfather Tom’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and attending his grandchildren’s activities.


In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his children, Cheryl Benson (Robert), Lisa Cenname (Vince), of New Castle, his step-son, Jason Wargo (Rachel) of Franklin, Pa., his brother, Philip Pirlozzi (Rosalie) of Vienna, Ohio, his brother-in-law, Jack DeMarco of New Castle, his former wife, Anita Pirlozzi of New Castle and six grandchildren, Vincent Cenname, Marissa Cenname, Matthew Benson, Nicholas Benson, Jacob Benson and Maylee Wargo.


In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Frances DeMarco.


A Private Blessing Service will be held at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St., conducted by Deacon John Carran.


The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Full Military Rites at the funeral home following the service.


Memorial contributions may be made to The New Castle Area Honor Guard, P.O. Box 7728, New Castle, Pa. 16107.


Burial will be in the Veterans Section of Parkside Cemetery.
