Joyce (Jody) Nichols Cook, 84, of Olathe, KS passed away Nov. 20, 2020 at Azria Health, Olathe, KS. Memorial service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. (Daddy Nic) and Maurietta (Mommy Nic) Nichols. She grew up in Delray Beach, Fla and graduated from Seacrest High School. Joyce married Boyd “Wade” Cook on January 19, 1957 in Delray Beach at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church. Jody was a homemaker, a community volunteer and a devout Catholic. Especially enjoyed sewing for the priests in her parish. She never missed a game or event that her children were involved in and was their biggest cheerleader, ringing “that cowbell!” She will be missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Jackie Schroeder and Joann Nichols. Jody is survived by her sister Judy Palivoda, Boynton Beach, Fla., husband, Wade, Olathe, KS; children: Loni Burson, Midlothian, TX, Nic Cook, Paola, KS and Joyce Olson, Olathe, KS; four grandchildren: Zachary Burson, Dallas, Tx., Marcus Cook, Osawatomie, KS, Miranda Cook, Overland Park, KS., and Jessica Olson, Olathe, KS. .
