Paula M. Dixon Obituary

Paula Marcia Dixon, 50, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020. Born August 18, 1970 in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved daughter of Clotilde Morales and the late Betty Ann Morales.

In June of 1988, Paula graduated from Coatesville Area High School. During high school, Paula performed in the school’s musical club, Coatesville Meistersingers. In May of 2004, Paula earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from West Chester University. During her time at the University, Paula learned she could impact people’s lives rather than exclusively focusing on her studies. Paula volunteered at the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County and a distinguished Law Firm in West Chester.

Paula dedicated her life to helping, healing, and loving as many people as she possibly could. She worked as a nurse for many years at various medical institutions including the Brandywine Hospital, Bayada Home Health Care, the Chester County Prison, and Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center for which she was employed for 22 years. Paula was a devout Christian and utilized her religion to continue her humble work. In May of 2007, Paula earned her Minister of Evangelism Certification from the Full Gospel Institute of Parkesburg, PA. She served as the Church Secretary at her church, Judah Ministries C.O.G.I.C. To continue on God’s path, Paula joined many committees at the church including, the Finance Team, Pastor’s Aid, the Church Anniversary Committee and the Kitchen Committee.

Paula was a true sports fanatic. In the fall, she would love watching her favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles play after church every Sunday. In the spring, she enjoyed watching her favorite baseball team, the Philadelphia Phillies play. She would often attend Phillies home-opener games with her dad, brothers and sisters. Paula looked forward to spending time with her husband Kevin, especially during their weekly-scheduled movie date night. She loved spending countless hours of quality time with her children, Andrew and Alexis, and found humor in dressing up her two dogs, Dougie and Oreo for various holidays and occasions. To unwind from her daily life, Paula frequently traveled to Jamaica with her best friend, her sisters and niece. Paula loved to cook and always made it a priority to have Sunday dinner with her family and friends.

Paula is survived by her husband, Kevin Jerome Dixon of Coatesville; her children, Andrew and Alexis Jennings of Coatesville, PA and Downingtown, PA; her brothers and sisters: Leona “Kitty” Reid (Vernal) of Coatesville, PA, Percy Miles of Aurora, CO, Charles Miles (Desiree) of Exton, PA, Rafaella Maria McCullough of Rock Hill, SC, Clotilde S. Ferguson (Dave) of Thorndale, PA, Marcus Morales (Carlette) of Coatesville, PA, Adam Johnson of Phoenixville, PA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

In addition to her mother, Betty Ann Morales, Paula is predeceased by her brother, Victor Wade Miles and her sister, Rusella Marie Miles.
