<p style="text-align: justify;">The victory service&nbsp;for Doris Hallauer of Morris will be private with a public visitation on Friday, December 4th, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Morris, Minnesota. Burial will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown, South Dakota at 2:15 p.m.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">There will be a live stream of Doris&rsquo; service on Friday, December 4th at 11:00 a.m.&nbsp; To view the service on the Pedersen Funeral Home website, scroll to the bottom of Doris&rsquo; page and click the link.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Doris Betty Hallauer was born the only child to Henry and Pearl (Ramthun) Just in Milwaukee WI, on August 16, 1923, and was baptized in the name of the Triune God on September 30, 1923, at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, Milwaukee WI, by the Rev. Carl Gausewitz. She confirmed her baptismal vow before Grace&rsquo;s altar on May 24, 1936.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Doris received her elementary education at Twenty-First Street and Auer Avenue schools in Milwaukee. Her secondary education was completed at Rufus King High School in 1941. For the next four years she attended Milwaukee Teachers College, graduating in 1945 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kindergarten-Primary Education.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">She began her teaching career in Cunningham School in Beloit WI, and, after one year, continued at Longfellow School in Milwaukee. She was united in marriage with Elton Hallauer on June 17, 1950, at Grace Church, Milwaukee. The couple made their first home in Brighton Township near New Ulm MN, upon her husband&rsquo;s call to Courtland and Zion Lutheran churches. In 1955, her husband accepted the call to St. John&rsquo;s Lutheran Church, Hancock MN, and in 1960 as pastor of the newly-formed Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, also in Hancock. During her years as a member of Bethel, she served the church as organist and Sunday School teacher. While a resident of Hancock, she served on the Hancock Library Board, as an election judge for many years, and as a kindergarten teacher and substitute teacher on occasion at Hancock Public Schools, all the while fulfilling her duties as mother and homemaker.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The Lord blessed her union of seventy years with Pastor Hallauer with seven daughters, sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. After her husband&rsquo;s retirement from the ministry, the couple moved into an apartment complex in Morris MN. Since then, she has also resided at The Legacy Assisted Living Center and finally, West Wind Village Nursing Home, both in Morris.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Doris was called home on Sunday, November 29, 2020, having reached the age of 97 years, 3 months and 13 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter, Mary.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">She leaves to remember her in this time of grace: her husband, Elton, her daughters: Barbara Breth, Eagan; Janice and her husband, Barry Davis, Spring Lake Park; Karen and her husband, David Johannes, Eau Claire, WI; Linda Hallauer, So.
