Jay Arthur Walker “Jaybird”, 80, of Greenwich, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Fisher Titus Medical Center.   He was born June 1, 1940 in Willard, Ohio, son of the late, Jay and Dorothy (Blessing) Walker.   Jay was also named “Mr. Clean” at an early age because he was so neat and clean about everything.   Jay never met anyone that didn’t turn into a friend.   He was a man that loved and helped his family and friends.   He had an infectious laugh and was often referred to as the “ Sweetest guy” and the “best hugger.”    He truly loved traveling and camping with friends and exploring this beautiful nation.   Jay retired from Fed Ex, after working there for 17 years.   Jay worked hard his whole life beginning with working the family farm at a very young age.   He was the youngest of 9 children and carried the burden of the farm when his father became ill.   His favorite job of his life was working the family farm and working with John Gilger and Bob Pettit with Pettit and Gilger Oil.   After retiring he transported equipment for the local Mennonite community, and became great friends with many, but especially with  James, Paul, Marvin and Leon.   Jay went through a lot of medical issues in his life within the last 18 years.   This was a battle he could not overcome and God took him home to be free from his earthly body.  

Left behind is his wife, companion and #1 fan of 14 years, Sandy (Entler), who thought of Jay as her soul mate and love of her life;    2 children,  loving son “mini me” Tad Walker of Bucyrus and daughter, Shelly (Lyle) Wagner of Ontario, Ohio; his grandchildren, Dulcey and Wayne Wagner, Spencer and Shari Walker;   his siblings, Mary Jane Eitle of Chesterville, Nancy Doyle of Pennsylvania, Edna Swartz and Martha Weatherbie both of Willard; many wonderful and loving nieces and nephews, friends and 2 “special people” in his life, Shari Ray and Karen Went, whom he thought of as his daughters.    He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Ruth (Dellinger) Walker, his siblings, Caroline Dunseth, Bertha Foshag, Ida Biernat and David Walker.
