Johanna A. Potter Obituary

Johanna A. Potter, 97, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Arcadia Care in Danville, IL. She was born on December 25, 1922 the daughter of Mary (Lengvenas) and John Griec in Hegeler, IL.

Johanna leaves behind her son, Tom (Katie) Potter; three grandchildren, Lance (Nicci) Potter, Jonathan Potter, and Gretchen (Jeff) Gridler; three great grandchildren, Eva Kimmerly, TJ Gridler, and Nash Gridler; one sister, Martha White; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Johanna in death include her parents; her husband, Lyle T. Potter, who passed on April 17, 2000; two daughters, Rebecca Potter and Mary Potter; two brothers, Charles Griec and Felix Griec; and three sisters, Dorothy White, Veronica Holycross, and Genevieve Pierce.

Johanna was outgoing, gregarious, and never met a stranger. She worked at Lakeview Hospital as a Registered Nurse and was very proud of it. She enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Illini Basketball games. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved having family get-togethers and going on vacation with them. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed dearly by those who loved her.

Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. A Private Family Graveside will be held in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Westville.
