Martin J. Veale

<p>&nbsp;Martin Joseph Veale, 94, of the Silver Ridge section of Berkeley Township, NJ, died November 26, 2020.&nbsp; Martin was born September 24, 1926 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Nicholas and Mary Ann Veale.&nbsp; He was a loving husband and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather.&nbsp; He honorably served his country on a Submarine Chaser in the United States Navy during WWII and was very proud of his military service.&nbsp; He was a truck driver for Halls Motor Transit for 35 years.&nbsp; He was a parishioner of Holy Spirit of R. C. Church in in Union, NJ for 25 years and St. Maximillian Kolbe R. C. Church in Toms River for 27 years.&nbsp; Martin was an active member Knights of Columbus, Council #4504 and Teamsters Local 641.&nbsp; He was a Hi-Fi Aficionado, spending many hours trying to achieve the perfect home sound system and loved airshows and flying small planes.&nbsp; He will be greatly missed.</p> <p>Martin is predeceased by his parents, his wife, Joan Helies Veale; brothers, James Veale; Alfred Veale; Arthur Veale; sisters, Rose Veale and Anne Veale French.</p> <p>Martin is survived by his son, Martin Veale and his partner Cindy Hayward of Alpha, New Jersey; daughters, Kathleen Groben and her husband Paul of Barnegat; Donna Wilkerson and her husband DeWayne of Toms River; Teresa Veale of Toms River; his grandchildren John and his wife Danielle, Robert and his wife Kaila, Michael, Kristen, Brian, Nick and Shannon and 3 great grandchildren.</p> <p>The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 3pm to 7pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.&nbsp; A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Friday, December 4, 2020 at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church with burial to follow at BG William C.
