On Monday, November 30, 2020, he entered into eternal peace and rest.<br /> <br /> Laurie received his formal education in Darlington County Public Schools and was a 1963 graduate of Mayo High School. He retired from ESAB in Florence, SC after 39 years and Clanton/Manheim after 54 years.</p> <p>He was a faithful, dedicated member of Center Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon board.</p> <p>He was proceeded in death by his wife Frances J. Gurley and his son, Kevin Jerome Gurley.</p> <p>Laurie leaves behind to cherish his memories: one son Jamie (Yolonda) Gurley, Douglasville, GA; one daughter LaShawn (Keith) Bostic, Charlotte, NC; four grandsons, Brandon Gurley, Keith Bostic, Jr., Kendall Bostic and Kaden Bostic; one granddaughter, Janiya Gurley; five great grandchildren; four sisters, Wilhelmia Mack, Waltermae Dubose (William), Rosa Lee Rouse, all of Darlington, SC, Leatha Mae Eagleton (Johnny) of Effingham, SC; special friend, Daisy Green of Darlington, SC and a host of nieces,nephews, cousins and friends.<br /> </p>Obituary
