Ann Carol Banks Obituary

Ann Carol Banks, 88, of Wheeling, died around 11:00 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2020 at her retirement facility surrounded by her husband and loving immediate family.

She was born September 9, 1932 at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, the daughter of James & Ethel Evoy, and sister of the late Edward (Jean) Evoy. Carol was raised and educated in Chicago, graduating from Notre Dame High School in 1950.

Carol married Donald Banks on April 11, 1953. They raised four children together during their 67 years of marriage.

Carol worked for Jewel and at J.C. Penney Department Store as a drapery seamstress and in catalog sales until her retirement. She was an avid reader of books, enjoyed going to the library and reading with her grandchildren. Music was a big part of her life from listening to records, playing the organ and strumming the ukulele. She loved card games, telling jokes and DVRing her favorite television shows to watch on repeat. Most of all she enjoyed time with family, visiting old friends and making new friends anywhere she went.

Surviving are her spouse, Donald Banks ; her three daughters, Patricia Trampas, Maureen (Tom) Gorny, Christine (Fred) Mesa; her son, James Banks ; 8 grandchildren {Nicole, Natè, Ross, Daniel (Judith), Douglas, Dana, Kevin (Rachel), and Kyle} ; 8 great grandchildren {Kayla, Cory, Logan, Ignacio, Daniel jr., Skyler, Zander, and Grace} ; one great grandchild on the way ; and many granddogs.

Due to state restrictions surrounding COVID-19 a Celebration of Remembrance memorial service will be planned for a future date.
