William Ross Mackey, 83, of Three Oaks passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Ross was born on August 11, 1937, to Wilbert “Bill” and Virginia (Rogers) Mackey in Rensselaer, IN. He graduated from Argos Community High School. On May 17, 1964 he married Linda Swing in Rensselaer, IN. In Ross’s early years, he was very involved in Rocket Football and little league, especially as his son Mike was playing. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame Football and the Chicago Bears. Ross served ten years with the Indiana National Guard and was a member of the Three Oaks American Legion, Post 204. Most of all he cherished time spent with his family. Ross is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Mackey; children, Andrea (Tim) Schopbach of Niles, Kelly Mackey of Three Oaks and Mike (Sara) Mackey of Anthem, Arizona; grandchildren, Michaela, Emma and Caitlyn Schopbach, Tyler and Leah Mackey and sister, Eunice (Kurt) Franke of Fr. Myers, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Virginia Mackey. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel, New Buffalo.
