Kapp, Frances “Fran” On Friday, November 27, 2020, Fran Kapp, beloved wife of the late Arnold Kapp, loving mother of Laura Jesmer (Sheri Clark) and David Jesmer, dear sister of Myrna Greenspan, Adored aunt of Aimee, Natalie, Adam, Alex, John, Alex, Samantha, Thomas, Tess and Oscar, and friend to so many blessed to know her, passed away at the age of 80. Fran was born on April 24, 1940 in Chicago to Sylvia and Irving Greenspan. She grew up on Chicago’s West Side and later in Rogers Park, where she attended Sullivan High School. She attended the University of Illinois at Champaign and Roosevelt University in Chicago, and graduated with a BA in English. She married Arnold Kapp in 1979, with whom she ran a photography studio until his death in 1984. She continued in the photography business for more than 20 years after Arnold’s passing. Fran was a loving and devoted mother who made her kids the center of her life. She was a baseball fan, a love she inherited from her dad, and raised her kids to be life-long Cubs fans. She loved reading great fiction and always had a stack of books on her “to read” list. Fran supported many charities, and for a number of years was very involved with Hands of Peace, an organization that seeks to bring reconciliation and understanding to Israeli and Palestinian teenagers. She was also an avid traveler, taking trips to China, Australia, South America, Europe, Israel, and other places with friends and family. Just about everyone who met Fran became part of her life. She had many former clients, employees, and friends who she considered and who considered her to be family. Her home was a frequent gathering place for extended family and friends for Passover Seders, Hanukkah parties, Yom Kippur break the fast get-togethers, and birthday parties. She always made everyone around her feel special and loved.Obituary
