John A. "LaLa" Vieira
NEW BEDFORD-John A. "LaLa" Vieira, 65, of New Bedford, died Monday, November 23, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital following a period of declining health. He was the son of Dolores (Miranda) Vieira of New Bedford and the late John A. Vieira. Born in New Bedford, he was a lifelong resident. John was a self-employed contractor. He enjoyed motorcycles and in his youth he was a talented street hockey player. His family includes his mother; his daughter, Amber Vieira of Acushnet; 2 sons, Gregory Vieira of Florida and Joshua Vieira of New Bedford; his brother, Michael Vieira of New Bedford; his niece, Pamela Lynn Vieira and his grandchildren. He was the father of the late Chad Vieira, brother of the late Kenneth Vieira and long time companion of the late Rose Marie Fernandes Silva. His Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady Of Guadalupe Parish At St. James Church on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. Please arrive at the church by 9:30 A.M. to provide trace information. Please be advised that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there are strict guidelines that must be adhered to for the safety of everyone. You MUST wear a mask to be allowed entry to the service.
