Chester E. “Chet” Wertman, 83 of Ashland, passed away Friday November 27, 2020 in University Hopsital’s Samaritan Medical Center. Chet was born July 16, 1937 in Ashland, the son of the late Henry and Martha (Morgan) Wertman. He was a resident of Ashland all his life. Chet was employed in multiple facets of the construction trade and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He is survived by his wife Ann (Rice) Wertman, to whom he was married November 12, 1977. His daughter; Christina Wertman of Hamilton. His son; Tim (Amber) Wertman of Galion. A brother John Wertman; a sister Inez Wertman; 5 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Norman Wertman. At this time there will be a private family service. Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the Wertman family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ashland County Wildlife Conservation League, 1930 County Road 1035, Ashland, OH 44805.
