John "Tim"  Evans, age 69, of , passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Detroit, MI on December 9, 1950, the son of  John F.  & Norma (Pershing) Evans.

Tim was a 1969 graduate of Union High School and was also a graduate of Ivy Tech Community College. During his younger years, at age 16 Tim worked at his father's machine shop.  He retired from Allison's Transmissions in Indianapolis then began tutoring students at Ivy Tech for a few years and was also a counselor at the Hamilton Center. He owned a scrap yard for 11 years and was proud to be one of the original founders of the Greene County Soccer Association. Throughout the years Tim took many college courses and received several awards.  

He is survived by his brother, Kurt D. (Tracy) Evans of Jasonville; step-sons, Scott (Amanda) Lower of Linton and Steven (Ashley) Lower both of Linton; grandchildren, Brianna Lower, Maggie Lower, Sophie Lower, Baya Lower and Josh Lower; biological sister, Barb (Boright) Holmgren; biological brother, Ernest Boright and companion, Elizabeth "Libby" Dayhoff.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tammy Evans; sister, Thora Boright and brothers, Jerry Boright, Harry Boright and Joseph Boright.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.  Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020.
