Julie Marie Bateman, 53, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020 at her home.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home with Brother Keith Paulson officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Julie was born June 13, 1967 in Valley, Alabama to the late Thomas Fred Barrett and Betty Lee Presley Barrett. She was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking for friends and family, flower gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and sitting on her back porch with a Coors light. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Laney Daniel.

Surviving are her husband, Allen Ray Bateman, children, Kevin Ray Adams, Jr., Jamie Leah Adams Milligan, Wesley Aaron Adams, James Allen Bateman, and Ryan Davis; brothers, Jerry Barrett, Freddie Barrett, Charles Barrett, and Anthony Barrett; sisters, Melody Eiland, Deborah Austin, Jan Windham, and Beverly Paulson, 16 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers for the memorial the family is asking for people to donate to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund or to the John B Amos Cancer Center where Julie received her treatment. To give the family notification of your donation here are Jamie and Allen’s email addresses:
