Dwayne Francis Samuelson

Dwayne Francis Samuelson, 78, of Fairfield, IA passed away peacefully on November 27, 2020 at the Jefferson County Health Care Center. A Funeral Mass will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield, IA with Father Nick Adam officiating. Following the service his body will be cremated with burial to be held at a later date. A Rosary Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at St. Mary and will be led by the Knights of Columbus Council 4092. Mask and social distancing will be required. Memorial contributions in Dwayne’s honor may be directed to the family and mailed to 507 West Monroe Ave., Fairfield, IA 52556. Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com. Dwayne Francis Samuelson was born on October 31, 1942 in Richland, IA to Clarence and Nathalia Pauley Samuelson. He graduated from Washington High School in 1961. Dwayne was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Dwayne loved keeping his flower beds weeded and planting flowers. He enjoyed woodworking, grilling, and spending time with his family and friends. Dwayne is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Christee; three daughters, Teresa Hungerford, Angela Samuelson, and Cheryl Samuelson; one son, Dean Samuelson; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one sister, Janice Reed and a brother, Dale Samuelson as well as many extended family and friends. Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Carey Hungerford and a grandson, Jeremy Hungerford.
