Billye Townsend 90, an educator in various school districts in Arkansas transitioned from this life into eternity on Wednesday, November 25th, with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband and former Arkansas State Representative and  the first African American Optometrist in Arkansas, Dr. William H. Townsend and her daughter, Yolanda Townsend. She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters; Terezenha Booty and La Juan Julun both of Texas, three grandchildren; Akilah Booty of Calif., Darian Julun of N.Y., and Joseph Julun of Texas, her favorite cousin; Wendell (Dorothy) Smith of Little Rock, her Mt. Zion Baptist Church family of Little Rock and a host of family and friends.
A walk through visitation Thursday, December 3, from 2-6 p.m., at the funeral home's O.T. Smith Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at Friday December 4th at 0:30 a.m., at Bullock Temple C.M.E. Church, 1513 South Park Street, Little Rock, (across from Little Rock Central High School). Interment will follow at 12 noon, Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Ave., North Little Rock.
