HUTCHENS, Florence – November 12, 1925 – November 28, 2020. Passed peacefully away, Florence Hutchens (Lester), of St. John’s. Predeceased by her husband Cecil O. Hutchens; her parents, John T. and Florence Lester; sisters: Isabel Conrad, Margaret White and Dorothy Clarke; brothers: Tom and Jim Lester. Leaving to mourn daughter Judith Mills (Neville); sons: Donald (Norma), Derrick (Donna), Dwight (Mary Beth), Dale (Lisa); grandchildren: Nadine and Forrest Mills, Karen Hutchens, Andrea Spurrell (Sheldon), Scott Hutchens (Karen), Adam, Matthew, David (Lauren) and Nathan Hutchens, Sarah (Colin Pennell) and Catherine Hutchens, Heather Hutchens; great-grandchildren: Benjamin and Douglas Spurrell, Jacob and Rebecca Hutchens, Joshua Hutchens and Max Blackwood, Taylor Hutchens, Hannah Pennell; sister Joan Chapman; sisters-in-law: Juanita Lester, Arlene Willms, Reba Hutchens; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Life member of the St. John’s Elks Lodge #245 and member of St. Mary’s ACW and Alter Guild. The family is forever grateful for the care and compassion provided by the staff at Pleasantview Towers over the past 3 years. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Tuesday December 1 from 10 am – 9 pm. Funeral service to be held from The Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Craigmillar Avenue, on Wednesday, December 2 at 2 pm. Those who wish to attend the celebration will have to register through Barrett’s Funeral Home or by contacting a member of the family. The service will also be live streamed and a link will be provided on Barrett’s Funeral Home’s Website the day of the service. A private family interment to follow at The Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. “Too well loved to ever be forgotten”
