<p>Duane B. &ldquo;Pastor Dewey&rdquo; Kraklow, 83, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday November 26, 2020 at Allure of Geneseo (Good Samaritan) nursing home.</p> <p>Due to current COVID-19 restrictions of 10 persons or less, a private funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Taylor Ridge.&nbsp; A memorial service will take place at Faith Evangelical Free Church at a later date.&nbsp; In lieu of any flowers, memorials may be made to Duane&rsquo;s wife, Betty.</p> <p>Duane was born on October 11, 1937 in Milan, the son of Carl A. (Sr) and M. Helen (Sievers) Kraklow. Duane served&nbsp; as a Sergeant in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959. He married Betty Bowman on May 19, 1962.&nbsp; Duane worked construction in his early years, traveled with Mark IV Christian Youth Ministry after giving up construction, and later founded Calvary Road Ministry, which reached out to those with addictions offering them hope and housing.&nbsp; Duane also ministered as &ldquo;Pastor Dewey&rdquo; at the former Calvary&rsquo;s Cross Church in Rock Island.&nbsp; He was a former elder and chairman for Faith Evangelical Free Church, Moline.&nbsp; Duane was also a group leader for Celebrate Recovery at Edgewood Baptist, Rock Island. &nbsp;He was a former Chaplain at Arrowhead Ranch.&nbsp; Duane taught himself to play guitar and used to sing and share the Lord by visiting the Rock Island Co. Jail, Rock Island Rescue Mission, The Salvation Army, and nursing homes. Duane also went on several mission trips that included places like Moldova, Romania, Russia, Venezuela, Mexico, India, Egypt and Kurdistan.</p> <p>Pastor Dewey (Duane) was dedicated in serving his Savior, Jesus Christ, and leading anyone he met to have a personal relationship with his Jesus.&nbsp; He will be truly missed!</p> <p>Survivors include his wife, Betty, 2 daughters, Brenda Kraklow, Karol Griffiths, and 1 son, Mark (Chris) Kraklow; 3 grandchildren, Benjamin Kraklow, Melia Kraklow, and Kevin Griffiths, in addition to 3 adoptive grandchildren; 1 sister, Darlene Schmidt and 2 brothers, Daniel (Melanie) Kraklow and Allan (Barbra) Kraklow.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Grace Hepner and Marjorie Baker, and 2 brothers Carl Jr. and David.</p> <p>The family would like to thank all those who served and cared for Duane while he lived at Toulon Nursing</p> <p>Home and Geneseo Good Samaritan (Allure), including Drs. Duane B. “Pastor Dewey” Kraklow, 83, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday November 26, 2020 at Allure of Geneseo (Good Samaritan) nursing home.
