Brent Dee Wartchow, 66, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 27, 2020, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Brent was born July 11, 1954, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Henry James Wartchow and Beverly Vissing Wartchow. He grew up and attended schools in Arco and graduated from Butte County High School. Brent also attended Idaho State University.
On June 22, 1974, he married Leann Romney in Arco, Idaho. Brent and Leann made their home in Arco, Idaho, where Brent worked as a machinist at the Idaho Nuclear Laboratory for over 35 years. After retirement they moved to Idaho Falls.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved camping. Brent loved teasing his grandkids. He was a horrible golfer but loved it anyway. He enjoyed spending time in the garage building anything and everything. Brent and Leann enjoyed spending the winters in Mesquite, Nevada, with their good friends Ray and Judy Hamilton. They had many adventures and loved riding their side by sides together. Many days were spent golfing, albeit poorly, with Dave and Susan Mull, and just enjoying life.
Brent is survived by his loving wife, Leann Wartchow of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jason (Janda) Wartchow of Clearfield, UT; daughter, Lesley (Ace) Whitehead of Arco, ID; brother, Lance (Tammi) Wartchow of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Debbie (John) Cawley of Iona, ID; and eight grandchildren - Brendan, Trey, Jackson, Gunner, Kimber, Brooke, Ashley and Megan and one great grandson, Ethan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Beverly Wartchow; his father-in-law, Dan Romney, and mother-in-law, Mary Ellen Romney.
Brent left a great impression on everyone he met and will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family. We will miss his colorful language and larger than life personality.
At his request, no services will be held. There will be a family memorial later this summer.
