Christ Koble Rugby, North Dakota Obituary

Christ Koble

Christ Koble, the son of Adam and Elizabeth (Haman) Koble, was born on April 22, 1928 in Pierce County, North Dakota. He went to be with our Lord at the age of 92 years on Friday, November 27, 2020 at the Heart of America Care Center in Rugby, North Dakota. Christ was raised in the rural home of his parents near Orrin, North Dakota and attended country grade school. At the age of 13, he moved with his family to a farm north of Rugby and three years later, moved to the family homestead farm located in Meyer Township (2 miles east of Rugby). Following his education, Christ helped on the family farm. On September 23, 1952 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth (Jacinewice) Volk. The couple lived with his parents at the farm until 1953, when they moved 12 miles northwest to Wagar Township near Towner, North Dakota. They farmed and raised cattle, chickens, and pigs for 32 years. Christ also did custom coal hauling during the winter months and drove bus for Towner School, where all of his children graduated. Being on the farm was Christ’s love of life. In 1984, he retired due to a massive stroke and moved to Rugby. In 2007, he and his wife sold their home and moved to East Side Village. His wife, Betty passed away in February of 2009 and Christ then moved to the Haaland Home in the fall. He entered the Heart of America Medical Center in March of 2020. Christ lived a life of true faith, family, and hard work in farming and milking cows. He was very devoted to his rosary every day. He enjoyed visiting with his family, was an avid fisherman and loved to play cards, especially whist and pinochle. He was a friendly person, that would never forget a face once he had met you. His stroke brought him much frustration with lack of speaking names but still remembered you and knew your face. He was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church of Towner and later, Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
