VIRGINIA CATHLEEN (STREET) PECK, 81 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Grundy, VA. Born in Rowe, VA, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Ida Street. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Pentecostal faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker. She also worked at JPs Restaurant in Grundy, VA, Honaker Motel and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Larry Peck; Brothers: Clarence, Hobert and Luther Street; Sisters: Betty Jane Ward, Ollie Mae Lester, Mabel Brown and Ruby Joyce Street. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Billy (Florene) Peck of Big Rock, VA, Carlos Peck (Mary Ann Smith) of Bristol, TN, Johnny Peck of Oakwood, VA; Grandchildren: Joshua (Tiana) Peck, Jeramiah (Jessica) Peck, Mikayla Peck and Zachary Peck; Great-Grandchildren: Ryder Gibson and Maverick Peck; Daughter-in-Law: Virginia (Peck) Hurt. Also, survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Saturday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M. Mrs. Peck will have a closed casket service. Graveside Services for VIRGINIA CATHLEEN (STREET) PECK will be conducted Sunday, November 29, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at the Smith & Peck Family Cemetery on Big A Mountain with Eddie Street and Anthony Hale officiating with burial to follow. Active Pallbearers will be Mike Street, Jeffrey Jr. Edwards, Joshua Peck, Jeramiah Peck, Zachary Peck, Bobby Street, Jeff Ward and Creed Morgan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Staff of Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Dr. D.N. Patel and Dr. Kabaria. We will be taking proactive measures to help prevent the spread of any potential illness. In an effort to minimize direct contact, we ask that you consider avoiding shaking hands or physical contact with the members of the family or other guests. Direct Eye Contact, Loving Words, and a Warm Smile can be as meaningful to the families as a traditional handshake or hug, especially during these difficult times.
