Arnold Lawrence "Jack" Jackson, Jr., a native of Mobile, AL passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at the age of 76. He was a 1962 graduate of McGill Institute. After serving 6 years in the US Air Force, he received his degree from the University of South Alabama. He spent his career in the Telecommunications industry as a Manager at AT&T, BellSouth, Sprint and Gulf Equipment Corp. He served as a member of the Pioneers Volunteer Organization for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold, Sr. and Rosie Mae Soutullo Jackson, his sisters, Patricia Rose Jackson and Carol Ann Jackson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Shirley Jackson; children, Michael Lawrence (Liz) Jackson, Sr. of Mobile and Roseanne Rae Jackson Mitchell of Eufaula; grandchildren, Michael Lawrence Jackson, Jr., Meredith Anne Jackson, Caroline Elizabeth Jackson, Jackson Balkcom Mitchell, Brooke Billingslea Mitchell and James Collins Mitchell; other relatives and friends. Jack never met a stranger or failed to give a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed hunting, cooking out with all of his family, College football and, later in life, working out with his friends at the Providence Hospital Wellness Center whenever he could. A lifelong Catholic, he attended Our Savior Catholic Church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the care given by Kindred Hospice - Amberleigh and Christina. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Jack's name to USA Women & Children's Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM from Our Savior Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
