Gertrude J. Ogin, 94 of Newark, passed away on Sunday November 22, 2020 at her home. Born in Kingston, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Caulkins) James. Gertrude lived in Edwardsville, PA before coming to Newark’s Ironbound section in 1954. She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ in Newark and was a member of the Red Shield Boy’s Club Senior Citizens. A devoted wife and loving mother, she was predeceased by her husband, Ralph H. Ogin and her son, John Herbert Ogin. She is survived by her son, Keith Thomas Ogin and his wife Bonnie, her grandchildren, Caroline, Rebecca and her husband, Cory, John, Jr., and Monica and her great grandson, Cory. She was the dear sister of the late Rose Cooper and Helen Rowe and also leaves many dear nieces and nephews. A private committal service will be held at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union at a late date.
