James "Jim" William Koster

JAMES “JIM” WILLIAM KOSTER, age 68 of Madison Lake died on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. He was born April 12, 1952 in Mitchell, South Dakota. He was adopted when he was two days old by Albert and Marcella (Hauser) Koster of Parkston, South Dakota. Jim married Ruth Schraml of Madison Lake on April 20, 2004 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Janesville. Over the years he had driven semi cross country, and driven school bus for Crockett Bus Service in Mitchell, South Dakota, and Palmer Bus Service of North Mankato. He had also worked a radio disc jockey working for KZEN in Central City, Nebraska, KORN and KMIT in Mitchell, South Dakota, and KBEW in Blue Earth, MN. His interests were cars – street rods, classic and muscle cars, and Nascar. He was a member of the South Dakota National Guard, South Dakota Street Rod Association, and the Minnesota Street Rod Association. Jim is survived by his wife, Ruth of Madison Lake; and his daughter Michelle of Lake Crystal. He was preceded in death by his parents. A public visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at the Janesville Chapel of Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services. Father Brian Mulligan of St. Anne’s Catholic Church will offer closing prayers at 7:00PM.
