Irvin E. Knowles, 83, of Beattie, Kansas, passed away November 25, 2020 at the Frankfort Community Care Center in Frankfort, Kansas.  He was born to Kenneth and Alta (Miller) Knowles on November 17, 1937 in rural Beattie, Kansas.

Irvin spent his early years on the farm in Pawnee County, Nebraska. He spent his teen years in Omaha, Nebraska, where he graduated from high school.

His major work was with the Union Pacific Railroad where he held several different positions until retirement.  He spent his retirement years in the Summerfield, Kansas area, close to family and old friends.  The last place Irvin lived was 1/4 mile from he where was born.

He was also an ordained minister.  Irvin liked collectables and searched many thrift stores for them.

Irvin is survived by two daughters, two brothers, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Alta “Lola” Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2020 at the Wherry Mortuary in Pawnee City, Nebraska with Pastor Connor Barr officiating.

Visitation one hour before services on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Wherry Mortuary, Pawnee City, Nebraska.

Memorials may go to the family's choice.

Interment will be in the Mission Creek Cemetery, rural Liberty, Nebraska.
