L Z Pepper

LZ Pepper age 84 of El Dorado passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the medical center of South Arkansas. LZ was born June 22, 1936 in Union County to the late Ethell McKnight Pepper and Otis Lee Pepper. LZ was a retired welder and pipefitter, having worked for various companies over the years, before his retirement in 2003. He was affectionately known as the “Potato Man” by many customers that he sold produce to. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was an avid Bass Fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Lee Pepper; one daughter, Anita Teague, and by one brother, Jerry Pepper. Survivors include his wife of almost 25 years, Bessie Pepper of El Dorado; seven children, Paul Pepper and wife Gloria of Frederick, WV, Michael Pepper and wife Dena’ of Los Angeles, CA, Glenn Pepper, and Jamie Pepper, both of Gonzales, LA, Jeff Cooper and wife Becky of Ashdown, AR, Buddy Cooper of Ogden, AR, and Cindy Hill and husband Lolly of Diana, TX; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Parrott and husband Charlie, and Glenda Deal, all of Crossett; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. There will be no public services at this time. Cremation services provided by Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
