On Thursday, November 26, 2020, Sarah Helen George of Star City, passed away. Sarah was born on February 12, 1928 in Waynesburg, PA, to Mike and Susan George. Sarah spent most of her adult life in the Morgantown area, eventually settling in the family home located in Star City. She resided with her sister, Eva and nephew, Tom. Sarah was an entrepreneur, operating George Brothers Restaurant and Dogn'Suds Drive-In. She was an outstanding employer, encouraging all that knew her to pursue their dreams. Upon her retirement, she spent her time with family, traveling, and antiquing. She was a member of the St. Mary's Eastern Orthodox Church, Westover, WV. Mostly, she was dedicated to her sisters, Eva and Mary, caring for both in their last years, and to her many nieces and nephews. Her family was key to her life. Of her seven siblings, she is survived by her brother, Joseph M. George. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Sunday, November 29th from 5-8 PM. A private family funeral service will take place at a later time with Father George Ellis officiating with internment to follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. Although guests are invited to come visit, it is required, per the Governor and CDC pandemic guidelines, that all visitors wear face masks and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Sarah's memory may be made to St. Mary's Eastern Orthodox Church, 19 West Park Avenue, Westover, WV 26501. Send condolences online at www.hastingsfuneralhome.com
