Elaine L. Jahnke

Elaine L. Jahnke, age 84 of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Tivoli in Portage.  She was born on April 13, 1936 in the Town of Springfield to Frederick “Leo” and Emma (Wobschal) Spath.  Elaine married Herbert E. Jahnke Jr. on May 19, 1956 in the Springfield Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed hunting, fishing, sewing, embroidering, crocheting, reading, word puzzles and most of all spending time with her family.

Elaine is survived by her son, Dean (Pat) Jahnke, Westfield; one grandson, Josh Jahnke; two great grandchildren, Dylan and Peyton Jahnke; two sisters, Edna Abegglen and Elaine’s twin, Irene (Ken) Schwerbel; one sister in law, Jerrie Spath; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Gustave Spath; one sister, Laurena (Edward) Wakershauser and one brother in law, Emil Abegglen.

A funeral service for Elaine will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield with Rev. Rodney Armon officiating.  A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Town of Springfield.  

Elaine’s family would like to thank Tivoli and Agrace HospiceCare for all the loving care they gave mom, Rev. Rodney Armon and Candice for all of their visits and to Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home for their service as well.
