Wayne Kenneth Hein Obituary

Wayne Kenneth Hein, 86 of Leawood, KS, died Friday, November 20, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Wanda Lee, his parents, Albert & Verna Hein and his sister, Janet Wolfmeyer. Wayne is survived by his children, Mark Hein & wife Karen, Sandra Wachter & husband Marc and Scott Hein; his grandchildren, Dr. Amanda Tran & husband Alex, Nicole Manning & husband Spencer, Brandon Reigel & wife Alison, Amy Hein, Dylan Wachter, Aubrey Reigel and Steven Hein; his precious great granddaughter Avery Manning and baby Tran due in March 2021; and many cousins, nieces & nephews.

Wayne grew up in Boonville, MO and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from the University of Missouri. In 1955, he proudly joined the United States Air Force where he was a captain and B-47 pilot during the Cold War. Wayne then moved to Kansas City and began his 33-year career at Kansas City Life Insurance Company where he met his wife and became Vice President of Operational Services. Wayne’s passion was his family, teaching his children and grandchildren the importance of always supporting each other and being there for each other through good times and bad.

The family suggests donations in his honor to be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Tourette Syndrome Association.

The funeral service was "live streamed".  If you would like to see the recording, please call the family.
