Ernest R Briggs

<p>Ernest R. Briggs passed away at home with his family by his side on Friday, November 20, 2020.&nbsp; Born July 13, 1945 in Ellsworth, Maine; he was the son of Homer and Helen (Picken) Briggs.&nbsp;</p> <p>Ernest served his country in the United States Air Force.</p> <p>He married his wife, Elizabeth (Polewaczyk) Briggs in 1969.&nbsp; They settled in Quaker Hill, Connecticut where they raised their daughter, Lisa. Ernest was the beloved husband to his wife and a devoted, compassionate, and kind father, grandfather, and great grandfather.</p> <p>For many years, Ernest was a laborer at Millstone Nuclear Energy Company in Connecticut. He was a member of the Laborers International Union Local 547. After retiring from Millstone, he worked at Ledyard School Systems in Connecticut. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cribbage, bowling in a league, and working outside with his hands trimming, mowing, or planting flowers in his yard. He also enjoyed exploring flea markets and estate sales for good finds.&nbsp;</p> <p>Once fully retired, Ernest and Elizabeth moved to Texas to live closer to his daughter and they travelled back up to Connecticut and Maine to visit friends and family every summer.&nbsp;</p> <p>Ernest was preceded by his father and mother, Homer and Helen Briggs and his brother, Jack E. Briggs. His memory will live on through his wife Elizabeth&nbsp; Briggs; his daughter, Lisa and husband, Daniel Thomas; grandchildren, Nicole and husband, Joe Richmond, Timothy Flanary, Kayla Thomas, and Sydney Thomas; great grandson, Dean Rogers; Sister Ruth and husband John Smead; Sister-in-law, Cathy Briggs. He will be missed dearly by his numerous friends and extended family.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations sent to Heart to Heart Hospice 100 W. Hawkins Pkwy Suite A, Longview, Texas 903-663-3310.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Ernest R. Briggs passed away at home with his family by his side on Friday, November 20, 2020.  Born July 13, 1945 in Ellsworth, Maine; he was the son of Homer and Helen (Picken) Briggs.
